Ujjain, the e-cart running from Mahakal Mahalok to the temple outside the Mahakaleshwar temple went out of control on Wednesday and entered the queue of general devotees at Shankh Dwar. A female devotee standing in line for darshan was injured in the accident. Three people riding in the e-cart were injured.

After the construction of Mahakal Mahalok in Mahakaleshwar temple, e-carts are used to take devotees on a tour of Mahalok and for devotees coming through protocol till the Shankh Dwar of the temple. On Wednesday afternoon at around 3:30 pm, an e-cart carrying some people went out of control in the valley near the Shankh Dwar of the temple and entered the barricades in front. During this, a girl Riya Athole, daughter of Sudhakar, age 20 years, resident of Kolar Bhopal, standing in the queue of general devotees, suffered a serious injury in her leg.
Lal Baba, the priest of Shri Aukeshwar Temple located in Mahakal Temple and another person riding in the e-cart have been injured. Lal Baba was brought to Patidar Hospital for treatment. He said that due to the brake failure of the e-cart, the vehicle moved fast on the valley and collided with the barricades installed for the general line of visitors. However, due to the grace of Baba Mahakal, there was no major injury in this accident. There was only a minor injury in the leg. Riya, who was standing in the line for darshan, was admitted to the district hospital due to severe injury in her leg. Later Riya was admitted to Avanti Hospital.

Assistant Administrator of Mahakal Temple, Moolchand Junwal said that two people have been lightly injured, due to the presence of mind of the driver of the e-cart, a major accident has not happened. There are minor injuries.
