Motihari, in the present times, the trend of making online friendship is increasing rapidly among the youth. At the same time, many times people have to bear the brunt of online friendship. Often people make friends on social sites and even share their personal information. Cyber ​​criminals use this for their benefit. One such case has come to light from Motihari. Where some youths first befriended a boy on Facebook and then called him in the name of giving work and started demanding ransom. Actually, some youths from Motihari and Katihar made friendship with a youth from Jalpaiguri through Facebook. After which the youths were called to Motihari in the name of giving job.

So that the police does not reach Motihari, the youths of Motihari had asked the youth from Katihar to call the youth from Jalpaiguri in the name of job. After getting instructions from Motihari, the youth from Katihar called the youth from Jalpaiguri to Motihari. The youth from Jalpaiguri caught a train and reached Motihari in the greed of getting a job. After reaching Motihari, the youth from Jalpaiguri met the two youths from Chhatauni police station area who took him to Sameer's house in Mufassil police station area. When the youth from Jalpaiguri himself got caught in the trap, he came to know about the evil plan of his Facebook friends. But by then it was too late.

The youth from Jalpaiguri was first beaten brutally at Sameer's house and then the youths from Motihari held him hostage and started demanding a ransom of three lakhs in exchange for releasing him. When the father of the kidnapped youth was not ready to pay the ransom, the accused made a video of him being beaten up and sent it to his father. The youths had planned to call other people in the name of jobs by making friends through Facebook and then release them after taking ransom.

Meanwhile, when the video of the beating of the victim reached his father in Jalpaiguri, he immediately contacted the Jalpaiguri SP. After which Jalpaiguri SP informed Motihari SP about the entire case. After which apart from Motihari Police's technical cell, Mufassil SHO was also informed about this case. When Motihari Police started tracking the location of the kidnappers, it was found near Katho of Mufassil police station area. From where Motihari Police not only recovered the kidnapped person safely but also arrested two kidnappers from the spot.
