Lalbarra, Lalbarra police has succeeded in arresting the husband who brutally murdered his wife with an axe within 48 hours. According to the information, on the evening of 25th September, on receiving the information of the murder of a woman from village Dharavasi, the police station in-charge Lalbarra police and forensic team reached the spot where the deceased Kavita Karasarpe, aged 34 years, was lying dead in a pool of blood. She had been attacked with an axe on her head and body. The deceased's sister-in-law filed a report that she was going home from work at around 4:00 pm, when Rehan, the son of her brother-in-law Madanlal, who lives in the neighborhood, was crying loudly outside his house. The door was locked from inside. Then my husband climbed up and opened the door. As soon as we all went inside, my brother-in-law Madanlal came out of the kitchen and ran away. When we went to the kitchen and looked, sister-in-law Kavita Karasarpe was lying dead. On the report, crime number 429/24, section- 103(1) BNS was registered against the accused Madanlal. Since the case was a serious and sensational case like murder, Balaghat Superintendent of Police Mr. Nagendra Singh (from IPS) directed for excellent investigation and immediate arrest of the absconding unknown accused. A team was formed under the leadership of Police Station Incharge Lalbarra Hemant Nayak under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Balaghat Vijay Dabar and Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Waraseoni Mr. Abhishek Chaudhary. The team was continuously searching for the absconding accused by activating the informer system. On the information of the informer, the hiding accused was arrested from near Dharavasi hill. The accused told the police during interrogation that he is addicted to drinking alcohol. Once his health had deteriorated a lot and a lot of money was spent on his treatment. He used to fight with his wife Kavita daily due to his alcohol habit. On the day of the incident, due to a lot of argument, he killed her by hitting her head hard with an axe kept nearby.
