Katni, during combing patrol to maintain peace and order before Republic Day and to effectively control crime, Kotwali police registered its strong presence in various parts of the area and arrested the warrantees who were absconding for a long time. Also, taking effective action against illegal liquor, a large amount of illegal liquor was seized and 02 Arms Act cases were registered when illegal weapons were found in the possession during checking of suspects.
During this operation, Kotwali police arrested 7 accused. Kotwali police showed promptness and succeeded in serving 08 permanent warrants and 04 arrest warrants who were absconding for a long time. These warrants were avoiding police action for a long time. They were caught during the combing patrol conducted by Kotwali police throughout the night. Taking strict action against illegal liquor and showing strictness against illegal activities, the Kotwali police during combing patrol surrounded and caught the accused who was carrying a large amount of liquor during checking. 350 quarters of country liquor was recovered from his possession and action was taken under the Excise Act and illegal liquor was seized by raiding other places and action was taken against 04 persons found consuming liquor at public places. During the combing patrol, the Kotwali police arrested 02 accused while checking and seized deadly weapons which they were carrying illegally and on the information of the informer, raid was conducted on a gambling den near KDC College and action was taken against 03 accused under the Gambling Act. After the Kotwali police combing patrol, the station in-charge Kotwali Inspector Ashish Kumar Sharma said that Katni Police is constantly keeping an eye on anti-social elements and they have been strictly instructed to stay away from crimes.
