Katni, Katni Kotwali Police, on the information of informers, raided near Gayatri Nagar culvert Pump House Road and arrested two women from Khirhani Gate and succeeded in seizing 4 kg of illegal drugs from them. The value of the seized ganja has been estimated at Rs 39 thousand.

Action has been taken against both the arrested women under the NDPS Act. Katni SP Abhijeet Ranjan said that the Kotwali Police was patrolling last night at around 11:30 pm. During this time, the police got information from informers that two women were going to deliver ganja near Gayatri Nagar culvert Pump House Road. On receiving the information, the police team led by Kotwali TI Ashish Sharma reached the spot and raided. On seeing the police, the women tried to run away, but the police surrounded them and caught them. It is said that 48-year-old Dhanpatiya Bai and 65-year-old Kusum Bai Nishad, residents of Khirhani Phatak, have been taken into custody and ganja has been seized. 2.155 kg ganja has been seized from the possession of Dhanpatiya Bai and 1.913 kg ganja has been seized from the possession of Kusum Bai, the cost of which is estimated to be Rs 39 thousand. The Kotwali police has registered a case against both the women under the NDPS Act.
