There are 86 approved private schools in Shivhar in which 25% children can study for free under the Right to Education. This information has been received under the Right to Information. Actually, RTI activist Mukund Prakash Mishra of Shivhar had sought information in this regard from the Education Department under the Right to Information. It has been told in the RTI report that between the year 2014 and the year 2024, 6751 children received free education in private schools of Shivhar. In the year 2014-15, 283 children received free education in various private schools, a total of Rs 1231051 was spent on this item. In the same year 2015-16, 565 children received free education and Rs 3634645 was spent on this item. In the same year 2016-17, 735 children received free education and Rs 4828215 was spent on this item. Whereas in 2017-18, 614 children received free education and Rs 5497142 was spent on this item. In the year 2018-19, 844 children received free education and Rs 14218941 was spent on this item. Whereas in 2019-20, 2256 children received free education, in 2020-21, 237 children received free education, in 2021-22, 304 children received free education, in 2022-23, 434 children received free education, in 2023-24, 479 children received free education. RTI activist Mukund Prakash Mishra requested the people of Shivhar to apply on the Gyandeep portal for enrollment of economically poor children in these 86 private schools. However, the decrease in the number of enrolled children after the entry of enrolled children in the Gyandeep portal raises questions on the system.
