Anuppur, concerned about the increasing road accidents and death of bovine animals due to stray animals on the roads in the district, Shiv Maruti Yuva Sangathan, Samatpur has submitted a formal application to the Collector. The organization has demanded immediate and concrete action to stop these incidents in the district.
Increase in road accidents and death of animals
According to the organization, accidents are increasing day by day due to the presence of stray animals on the major roads of Anuppur district, many of which are extremely painful. Animals suddenly sitting on the roads cause accidents for the drivers, resulting in not only the death of animals but many times people's lives are also in danger. The organization has also blamed uncontrolled large vehicles, overloading, and negligence of the administration for these accidents.
Demands of Shiv Maruti Yuva Sangathan
The organization has drawn special attention to the following points in its application:
Strict action on overloaded and uncontrolled vehicles
Instructions should be given to the Traffic and Transport Department to prevent accidents caused by uncontrolled speed and overloading of large vehicles. Strict monitoring should be done on overloaded and speeding vehicles on the roads and strict action should be taken against the guilty drivers.
Arrangement to remove stray animals from the roads
The number of accidents is continuously increasing due to stray animals sitting on the roads. For this, instructions should be given to the Nagar Palika, Nagar Panchayat, and Gram Panchayats to take appropriate steps to remove these animals from the roads. The responsibility of the Panchayats and local bodies should be fixed so that the animals sitting on the roads can be taken to safe places.
Strengthening the system of cow shelters
Due to lack of proper management in the cow shelters built by the Madhya Pradesh government for the protection and promotion of cows, stray animals are forced to roam on the roads. The organization has demanded that proper arrangements and maintenance of animals should be made in these cow shelters so that the objectives of the government can be fulfilled.
Medical assistance for accident-prone animals
Immediate medical facilities should be provided to animals injured in road accidents. The veterinary department should be directed to immediately take these injured animals to the cow shelters and ensure their proper medical arrangements.
Legal action against animal owners
Stray and accident-prone animals should be identified by the tags on their ears and legal action should be taken against the responsible animal owners. This step will motivate animal owners to take care of their animals, which will reduce the number of stray animals on the roads.
Initiatives taken by the organization
Shiv Maruti Yuva Sangathan has informed that in the last two months, the organization has provided first aid to 60 to 70 accident-prone animals in Anuppur district headquarters and surrounding areas. The organization says that in view of these gruesome accidents, it has become extremely necessary that the administration takes immediate steps to find a solution to this problem.
Appeal to the Collector to take concrete steps
The organization has requested the Collector to take immediate action on this serious issue. A copy of the application has also been sent to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Government, Bhopal, so that this issue can be seriously considered at the state level.
The organization believes that if proper guidelines and concrete action are taken at the administrative level, the number of these accidents can be reduced and bovine animals can be kept safe.
Objective of Shiv Maruti Yuva Sangathan
Shiv Maruti Yuva Sangathan is continuously working for social service in Anuppur district and is trying to find a solution by drawing the attention of the administration to such problems. This step of the organization can be important towards the safety of bovine animals and preventing road accidents in the district.
