Calamity created
Patna, a laborer in Bihar has received a notice of Rs 2 crore from the Income Tax Department. There is chaos after the laborer received the Income Tax notice. The Income Tax Department has sent a notice of Rs 2 crore to a daily wage earner in Gaya district of the state. The laborer is very worried and scared after receiving the IT notice. On the other hand, people are surprised at the fact that a laborer has received a tax notice of Rs 2 crore 3 thousand 308.
This case is of Nai Godown Mohalla of Kotwali police station area. The Income Tax Department has sent a notice to the laborer of the locality, Rajiv Kumar Verma. Rajiv Verma told that in 2015 he had made a fixed deposit of Rs 2 lakh in the Corporation Bank of the city, but withdrew the money in August 2016 before maturity. Later he started working as a laborer. Meanwhile, suddenly the Income Tax Department sent a tax notice of Rs 2 crore 3 thousand 308. It is mentioned in the notice that the return of fixed deposit of 2 crores has not been filed in the year 2015-16. The tax amount has also not been deposited.
The Income Tax Department official said that due to wrong loading of the amount by the bank, 2 lakhs must have turned into 2 crores. If this is not the case then the case of 2 crores is correct. After the notice, Rajiv Verma should have contacted the Income Tax Department office. He was told that now he will have to go to the Patna Income Tax Department office to appeal against the notice. After going to the appeal, he will have to show his bank transaction. Further action will be taken only after this. If 2 crores is not shown in the transaction, the case will become void.
