Chhatarpur, A two-day workshop based on disaster risk reduction was inaugurated in the Collectorate meeting hall under the direction of Disaster Management Institute and Ministry of Home Affairs, Bhopal and in coordination with District Administration Chhatarpur. In which representatives of voluntary organizations and community based organizations participated. In the programme, Dr. George V. Joseph, Joint Director of the Institute, Home Department said in his address that all of us are either affected by disasters or see disasters happening around us. Disasters never come by saying, so to reduce the impact of disasters, pre-preparation at every level and increasing the capacity of the community is very important. Disaster Management Institute and District Administration are actively working together to empower the community for disaster management. In this program, people will be made aware by sharing information about necessary preparations related to disaster at the community level, need for village disaster management plan and prevention from day-to-day accidents.
