Indore, on the petition filed in Indore High Court, the ban imposed since 1966 on the participation of Central employees in RSS programs was withdrawn by the Central Government through its order of July 09.

For about 58 years, the Central Government officials were banned from participating in the official orders of the Center considering the activities of the Sangh as political activities and disciplinary action was proposed against those employees for participating in any program of the Sangh. Pleading the violation of his fundamental rights on this issue, the petitioner Mr. Purushottam Gupta, through his lawyer Manish Nair, filed a petition in the Indore High Court last year. During the hearing of which, the Central Government presented in the High Court along with an affidavit the decision taken before its 9th July order to remove the name of RSS from the orders passed in 1966, 1975 and 1980. On behalf of the Central Government, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta along with Deputy Solicitor General of Indore High Court Himanshu Joshi presented their side in the previous hearing.
