For the first time he was an independent from 2004 to 2009 and for the second time from BJP from 2014 to 2019. Ganesh Rao's image has been as a labor leader since the beginning. Even today he is the President of the Cement and Mines Employees Union. Before resigning, he was a member of the District Executive in BJP. After resigning from BJP, there is talk of Ganesh Rao joining Congress, there is even talk that he can contest elections from Congress.
