Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has asked the officials to remain alert after water is released from Khadakvasla, Mulshi, Pavana and other dams of Pune. The Chief Minister has directed that steps should be taken to evacuate people from dangerous areas to safer places with the help of National Disaster Response Force-NDRF, State Disaster Response Force-SDRF and Army if needed. He said that people living in danger-prone areas near rivers and dams should be evacuated to safer places.

The Chief Minister has directed the administration to make arrangements for the safety of people living in low-lying areas of Pune including Ekta Nagar, Dattawadi, Patil Estate, Yerawada, Shivaji Nagar, Court Complex, Kamgar Putla Area, Harris Bridge and Dapodi.

Irrigation department officials said that 35,000 cusecs of water was released from Khadakvasla dam in Pune district on Sunday after heavy rainfall in the last fortnight.

The Meteorological Department-IMD has issued a warning of heavy rain in Pune city and other areas of the district. Heavy rains occurred at many places here on Sunday as well. Heavy rains occurred in the Ghat area of ​​Pune district in the last two days.
