Anuppur, after marriage, for demanding car, gold chain or ring in dowry and for beating and harassing daughter-in-law physically and mentally and throwing her out of the house, women police station has registered a case against 4 in-laws, husband Mithlesh Prajapati, father-in-law Ramavatar Prajapati, mother-in-law Radha Prajapati and brother-in-law Naresh Prajapati, all residents of village Dulhara, under 498A, 294, 506, 34 and Dowry Prohibition Act 3/4 and the matter has been taken into investigation. The victim told that before marriage, her in-laws had told her to study further, but after marriage they refused to do so, after which the victim's father took a loan from the bank and educated his daughter.

According to the information of the case, 30-year-old Durga Prajapati, wife of Mithilesh Prajapati, age 30 years, resident of village Dulhara, reached the women's police station with her father and filed a written complaint, stating that her maternal home is village Katkona police station Bijuri. And she was married to Mithilesh Prajapati, son of Ramavatar Prajapati, resident of village Dulhara, on 8 February 2013. In the marriage, the father gave 51 thousand cash, household items and utensils worth about 1 lakh in Tilak according to his status. At the time of marriage, the woman was studying in 12th, for which the in-laws told her to continue her further studies. But after marriage, they refused to let her study. After which the woman's father Balkaran Prajapati took a loan of 4 lakh rupees from State Bank Kotma for his daughter's further studies and got her BSc Nursing education. The loan amount was also paid by her father. After marriage, she lived in Bhopal for four years and studied and after returning to her in-laws house, her husband Mithilesh Prajapati, father in law Ramavtar Prajapati, mother in law Radha Prajapati, brother in law Naresh Prajapati, all four of them started demanding a four wheeler, a gold chain or a ring from her parents as she was not given anything in dowry. The woman informed her parents about this. Where due to her father not giving a four wheeler or a gold chain or a ring in dowry, the in-laws physically tortured the woman and threatened to get her husband married again and threw her out of the house. And after a few months, my father in law Ramavtar Prajapati, mother in law Radha Prajapati and brother in law Naresh Prajapati got my husband Mithilesh Prajapati married for the second time. Where, on the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case under sections 498A, 294, 506, 34 and Dowry Prohibition Act 3/4 against husband Mithilesh, father-in-law Ramavtar Prajapati, father-in-law Ramavtar Prajapati, mother-in-law Radha Prajapati, husband Ramavtar Prajapati and brother-in-law Naresh Prajapati, father Ramavtar Prajapati, all residents of village Dulhara, and the matter has been taken into investigation.
