Alirajpur, former District Congress Committee President Mahesh Patel told in a press conference held on Wednesday that illegal liquor business, storage and expired date poisonous liquor is being served openly in government shops in the district. The liquor contractor is playing with the lives and property of the people, but Congress will not tolerate this and will take to the streets in protest. Mr. Patel told that we have come to know that the liquor contractor has stored illegal liquor in the entire district, illegal liquor is being transported to the border states without royalty, he told that in all the government liquor shops in the district, expired date poisonous liquor is being served, along with that liquor of substandard quality is being sold. As soon as I got the information, I went to the government liquor shop myself and saw that the shopkeeper was selling expired poisonous beer to the customers. From there, I informed the police and the excise department about this. Mr. Patel has demanded from the district administration and the excise department officials that all the government liquor shops in the district should have their godowns inspected and the expiry date of the liquor sold from the shops should be checked.
