Patna, Tirhut seat of graduate quota in Legislative Council is vacant. The process has been started by the Election Commission for by-election on that seat. In this episode, the first public notice will be issued on Monday to prepare a new voter list.

In fact, Devesh Chandra Thakur was representing Tirhut seat in the Legislative Council. He was also the Chairman of the Council. This time after being elected MP from Sitamarhi in the Lok Sabha elections, he has resigned from the membership of the Legislative Council. Therefore, now the need for by-election has arisen on this seat. In such a situation, the first public notice will be issued on Monday to prepare a new voter list before the notification of election is issued here.

The cut-off date for inclusion of the names of voters of this constituency in the list has been kept on the basis of eligibility of November 1, 2024. Along with this, the application form will be accepted to include the name of voters in the voter list. The last date for accepting application form Form-18 or 19 for inclusion of name in the voter list has been fixed as 3rd September. The draft of the voter list will be published on 24th September. After that, claims and objections will be accepted till 15th October.
