Patna, Bihar's double engine government has taken a big decision to stop the corruption happening in the development works at the Panchayat level. After complaints of irregularities in the Panchayat's development plans, the government has cut the rights of the Mukhiya and ward members. Now no development work will be done in the Panchayats without tender. Actually, earlier the Mukhiya and ward members used to get the development work done at the Panchayat level in Bihar done at their own level. There were constant allegations of irregularities and corruption in the development works. After continuous complaints, finally the Nitish government has clipped the wings of the Mukhiya and ward members involved in corruption and has made a big cut in their rights. The Nitish government has now made tenders mandatory for any development work to be done in the Panchayats. Without completing the tender process, the Mukhiya and ward members will not be able to get any development work done at their level. The government has cut the rights of the Mukhiya and ward members. The Bihar government has made a Panchayat construction work manual, which has been approved by the cabinet. Now the head or ward members will not be able to act arbitrarily in the implementation of schemes.
