Villagers allege misappropriation of government funds

Katni, recently, villagers of Kuthia Mohgawan village panchayat of Barbara district of Katni had lodged a complaint from Janpad Panchayat to the state level, accusing the Gram Panchayat of misappropriation of government funds by doing a sham in the construction and development works done by it. It was mentioned that the Panchayat Sarpanch and Rozgar Sahayak have done a lot of corruption in the Chaupal built by the Panchayat in the school premises at a cost of Rs 5 lakh and the construction work done at a cost of Rs 2 lakh. BJP State Working Committee member and Janpad member's husband Rajesh Garg had sent a letter to the Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat on his letter pad and demanded an inquiry into the misappropriation of government funds in the name of construction work. Apart from this, a written complaint of this matter was also sent to the Panchayat and Rural Development Minister of Madhya Pradesh Government.
Taking cognizance of this complaint, the Panchayat and Rural Development Minister sent a letter to the District Administration to get the investigation done, on the basis of which the District Panchayat CEO Shishir Gemawat constituted an investigation team and got the investigation done in which the investigating officers were ordered to investigate as per the allegations of the complainants and submit the report to the office within a week. On which order, the investigating officer Rishiraj Chadhar, Project Officer MNREGA Branch Katni RB Singh Assistant Engineer District Panchayat Barwara Dharmendra Patel Additional Program Officer MNREGA District Barwara reached the village Panchayat Kuthia Mohgawa and after investigating and taking the statements of the complainants, assured to submit the report to the higher officer as soon as possible. Anyway, it remains to be seen what action will be taken against the accused when the report reaches the higher officer.
