Katni, Congress was seen on the streets today against the double engine government of the state, accusing it of collecting votes by showing the dream of doubling the income of farmers and then breaking the promise with the farmers. On September 20, Congress fiercely attacked the state government and the central government by taking out Kisan Nyay Yatra. The Kisan Nyay Yatra taken out with farmers and tractors reached the court square passing through various routes of the city and a memorandum was submitted there demanding justice for the farmers.
Taking the state government and the central government to task, Youth Congress President Anshu Mishra and senior Congress leader and Advocate Association President Amit Shukla said that the Modi government and the Mohan government of the state had promised to give support price to the farmers in the elections but now they have backtracked. In February 2016, the Prime Minister of the country said in a rally in Bareilly that farmer brothers, I will double your income by the year 2022. But the National Statistical Office of the Modi government itself said in its report that the average income of the farmers of the country has remained 27 rupees per day and the average debt per farmer has become 74 thousand rupees. This happened because in the last ten years the cost of farming has increased by 25 thousand rupees per hectare. 12 percent GST on tractors and farming equipment, 5 percent on fertilizers, 18 percent on pesticides, the price of diesel increased by 35 rupees per liter. Congress's Kisan Nyay Yatra started today on Friday, 20 September at 1:00 pm from Ganesh Chowk Katni and reached Kachhari Chauraha via Azad Chowk, Mission Chowk via Main Road in Station Road. Here a memorandum addressed to His Excellency the President was handed over to the SDM.
