Congress has released the second list of 23 candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. So far the party has announced the names of 71 candidates. After the seat sharing exercise was resolved in the opposition grand alliance 'Maha Vikas Aghadi' in the electoral state of Maharashtra, the party is continuously releasing the list of names of candidates. Maharashtra Congress has released the second list of its candidates. It includes the names of 23 candidates.

These candidates were announced

Maharashtra Congress has nominated Rajesh Manvatkar from Bhusaval (SC), Swati Sandeep Wakekar from Jalgaon (Jamod), Mahesh Gange from Akot, Shekhar Pramod Babu Shende from Wardha, Anuja Sunil Kedar from Savner, Girish Pandav from Nagpur South and Suresh Yadavrao Bhoyar from Kamathi, Puja Thavkar from Bhandara (SC), Dalip Bansod from Arjuni-Morgaon (SC) and Rajkumar Puram from Amgaon (ST).

Vasant Purke from Ralegaon, Anil Mangulkar from Yavatmal, Jitendra Moghe from Arni (ST), Sahebrao Kamble from Umarkhed (SC), Kailash Gorantyal from Jalna, Madhukar Deshmukh from Aurangabad East, Vijay Govind Patil from Vasai, Kalu Bhadelia from Kandivali East, Yashwant Singh from Charkop, Ganesh Kumar Yadav from Sion Koliwada, Hemant Ogale from Shrirampur (SC), Abhay Kumar Salunkhe from Nilanga and Ganpatrao Patil from Shirol have been made candidates.

List of 48 candidates was released earlier

Let us tell you that Congress had earlier released its first list of 48 candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. So far the party has fielded 71 of its candidates. Under the 85-85 formula, now the party has to announce the names of only 14 more candidates.

Formula to field 85-85 candidates decided
The three major parties in the opposition grand alliance 'Maha Vikas Aghadi' in Maharashtra have decided to field 85-85 candidates in the assembly elections. These include Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) and Shiv Sena (UBT). The Eknath Shinde-led Mahayuti government is in power in Maharashtra with 288 assembly seats. Voting for all the seats in Maharashtra is to be held in a single phase on November 20, while the counting of votes will be held on November 23.
