Bridge being built under Bharatmala project collapsed in Jehanabad
Laborers injured, allegations of use of substandard material
The case of bridge collapse has started coming to the fore again in Jehanabad, Bihar. Actually, there were many incidents of bridge collapse in different districts of Bihar last year. However, this year there were fewer cases of bridge collapse. But, now once again a bridge being built under a big project in Bihar has collapsed. Actually, incidents of bridge and culvert collapse during construction are often seen in Bihar. But, if such an incident happens due to minor negligence in a big project, then many questions arise. Actually, an under-construction bridge being built under the Bharatmala project near Shadipur Ratan Bigha village of Okri police station area of Jehanabad district has collapsed. However, the good thing is that a major accident was averted.
According to the information received, the construction work of Amas-Darbhanga Expressway 119 D is going on under the Bharatmala project. Under this, a culvert is also being constructed along the road between Shadipur and Ratan Bigha villages. On Sunday, the under-construction culvert suddenly collapsed. Two workers working there were also injured in this incident. Both the workers were treated at Jehanabad Sadar Hospital.
Villagers alleged use of substandard material
It is being told that after the incident, there was chaos at the spot. The good thing was that there was no loss of life or property. Injured worker Chandan Kumar and one of his companions were sent to Sadar Hospital for treatment. The injured workers are residents of Masaurhi and Jehanabad. As soon as the information of the incident was received, a large number of villagers reached there. The villagers have alleged use of substandard material in the construction of the bridge and demanded an investigation. However, people working on this project told off the record that an inspection of the bridge is done before casting. During that, this bridge collapsed.
