Nitish government has received a big shock from the central government on the demand of giving special state status to Bihar. On behalf of the central government, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary clearly said in the Lok Sabha that all states have to fulfill the norms to get special state status. There is nothing like that in Bihar. Actually, Bihar will not get special state status, Central Government's reply in Lok Sabha In Lok Sabha, on behalf of the central government, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in response to JDU's question that "It is not possible to give special state status to Bihar. He said that the provisions that have to be fulfilled for a special state are not there in Bihar.'' Let us tell you that JDU MP Rampreet Mandal had demanded special state status for Bihar and asked his question, in response to which the central government said that the standards set by the National Development Council for the special state category include difficult geographical conditions, low population density, tribal dominated areas and border areas with neighboring countries as well as economic and structural backwardness. Some states have been given special state status on this basis, but there is nothing like this in relation to Bihar.
