Balaghat, darkness has been prevailing in village Silhati Tola of Gram Panchayat Jhamul, which comes under Birsa Janpad Panchayat, for the past several days. Due to which agricultural work is getting completely affected, due to darkness at night there is a fear of poisonous insects and poisonous snakes, children's studies are getting completely affected. A low voltage transformer was installed by the electricity department for food supply, which got burnt in a few hours, a written complaint of which was made by village Sarpanch Gautriya Maravi to the Chief Engineer Officer Baihar on 10 July 2024 and a complaint has also been lodged in 1912, so many days have passed since the complaint but a new high voltage transformer has not been installed. This is revealing the gross negligence of the electricity department, if the complaint of the Sarpanch has been ignored by the department, then what would be the condition of the complaint of the common man. An ordinary person must be getting upset just by making rounds of the office. It is mentioned in the complaint letter that due to the transformer being out of order in Silhati Tola for the past few days, the villagers are facing problems in night lighting and agricultural work due to rain. In village Silhati Tola, a total of 42 farmers have bore connections, 70 families have domestic connections and one rice mill and currently the transformer is of low wattage due to which the loading is high. Other problems have also been mentioned in writing.

In the discussion, village sarpanch Gautriya Maravi said that I had complained in writing to the electricity department for installing a new transformer, and have been informed verbally many times but a new transformer has not been installed yet. If a consumer does not pay the electricity bill for a month, the power is cut off without any complaint. We want that a transformer should be installed in the village immediately and action should be taken against such careless officers, this is the limit of carelessness.

All other works including agriculture are getting affected

It is known that all other works including agriculture are getting affected due to transformer failure in Silhati Tola village under Jhamul Panchayat. Villagers are mostly dependent on agriculture to feed their families but villagers say that if a new transformer is not installed soon then agriculture will get affected, businesses are getting ruined and studies are getting affected.

Now it remains to be seen that within how many days new transformer is installed in this village, will the senior officers sitting in the department take action against such careless and irresponsible people or will this carelessness continue and people will be misled like this, till when will this continue.

At the same time, when we contacted the concerned officer on his telephone number 9425806227 to put forth his side, he did not pick up the phone even after ringing, then again when we tried to contact him, this gentleman's number was showing switched off. This clearly shows how honest he is towards his work.
