It is worth mentioning that through two canals from the Chilar Dam, the biggest water source of the area, water is given to the farmers for crops. These canals pass through the city limits after leaving Chilar Dam. A proposal has been prepared by the municipality to cover these canals completely. To cover both the canals in the urban limits, a proposal of about Rs 12 crore has been prepared and submitted to the Minister of Water Resources. It was told that after the sanction of the amount, the canals would be covered with CC construction.

Paver blocks will be installed, plantation will also be done

In the proposal prepared by the municipality, a proposal has been prepared to cover both the canals in the urban limits with CC construction. Along with this, after the construction of CC, it has been mentioned in this proposal to install paver blocks on the remaining space on both sides and plant trees around them. Municipality CMO Rakesh Chauhan said that continuous efforts are being made by Mayor Prem Jain for the approval of this proposal. Mayor Jain said that when the canal will be covered with CC construction and plantation will be done by planting paver blocks around it, its beauty will increase. Also, after the construction of CC over the canal, people will be able to walk on it.

The problem of dirt and smell will go away

At present, the condition of both the canals coming out of Chilar Dam in the urban limits is bad. Due to the filth found in the canals, their condition has become like a big drain. Along with throwing garbage by the people, leaving the dirty water of the houses in the canal, the water of the drains is also going into the canal. Due to this the condition of the canal has become very bad. Whenever the canal has to be commissioned, first of all it has to be cleaned by JCB. When the canal is completely covered, dirt will not be found in it. Because under the sewerage project, the water of the drains will not go into the canal. At the same time, due to its cover, people will not be able to throw dirt in it. CMO Chauhan told that while covering the canal with CC construction, chambers will be made at the prescribed distance. So that it can be cleaned from time to time and when needed.
