Angry villagers staged a sit-in in the Collectorate for not getting compensation to flood victims
Flood-affected villagers of Dhimarkheda demanded compensation, resolved not to celebrate Diwali

Katni, Village Panchayat Pipariya Shukla under Dhimarkheda development block of Katni district which has been flood-affected, and Gramani was affected by the flood and till date they have not received proper compensation. Regarding which, today the villagers gave a one-day protest in front of the Collectorate office and submitted a memorandum to the officials demanding that they be given the compensation amount. Social worker AK Khan was also seen wearing chains and raising slogans with the villagers to support these villagers. The villagers have also refused to celebrate the Diwali festival.
The villagers alleged that surveys were conducted several times but till date the compensation amount has not reached them, while the villagers also alleged that the employment assistant secretary of the village has even collected money from the flood victims in the name of giving compensation, the villagers made many such serious allegations which the district administration has not taken any notice of till date. Due to which the angry villagers reached the Collectorate and staged a sit-in protest demanding justice and demanded the suspension of the careless officers posted in the development block. The villagers also said that they will not celebrate Diwali, a major Hindu festival of the Hindu religion.
