Patna, A student committed suicide by hanging herself in National Institute of Technology (NIT) located in Patna, the capital of Bihar, on Friday night. This incident took place in the hostel located in NIT's Bihta campus. The student Pallavi Reddy (19) was from Andhra Pradesh. As soon as the news of her suicide reached NIT Patna campus, the students present there started creating ruckus.
Bihta police station in-charge Rajkumar Pandey said that the police received information at around 10.30 pm that a B.Tech second year student has committed suicide in the hostel. When the police reached the spot, it was found that the hostel management took the student to the hospital. Where the doctors declared her dead. Heavy police force was deployed in the campus due to the ruckus.
The students living in NIT's hostel alleged that the college administration tried to suppress this matter. After Pallavi was found hanging, the hostel students were locked in their rooms.
