Katni, an elephant suddenly entered Katni district from Bandhavgarh National Park via Chandia, which created a Dussehra like atmosphere in the rural area. On receiving the information, the forest staff of Katni district reached the spot and tried to drive the elephant towards the forest and the police of Barwara police station also reached the spot to control the crowd of villagers.
The Additional SP of Katni district said that an elephant had entered the fields from the forest of Bilayatkala in Barwara via the forest of Chandia, the information of which reached them from the Forest Department, on which the police force of Barwara police station also immediately reached the spot and removed the villagers from there and advised them not to come out in the dark of the night. The Additional SP Santosh Daheria said that at present the forest department staff has driven the elephant towards the forest of Chandia and the situation is normal now. Also, forest staff from Umaria district has reached the spot.
