Shahdol, A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Shahdol district. 4 youths who had gone to steal junk have died due to inhaling poisonous gas in a closed mine. The dead bodies of the four youths have been sent to Shahdol Medical College for PM. On the other hand, the Shahdol police has started investigating the matter by setting up a case. Dhanpuri UG mine of SECL Sohagpur area was closed in 2018. About 200 meters long tunnel was made near the coal siding to transport the material inside the mine. Which was closed with concrete only in 2018 but the junk thieves had broken it for their convenience and the work of junk theft was going on there for the last several months.

Siddharth Mahato, an eyewitness who was present at the scene of the incident, told that he along with his 4 companions had gone to the said mine to steal junk. The four accomplices had entered inside with his mobile, torch, sabble and saw. When Siddharth felt restless due to the gas leak, he came out. Siddharth told that he was watching them from the tunnel and was calling when he saw that the torch and mobile fell down and stopped and neither there is any movement nor there is any sound. After this he ran away from the spot.

At the same time, in this whole matter, the great negligence of the police, administration and colliery management has come to the fore. For a long time, scavengers have been stealing scrap by opening the doors of closed mines. During this, many incidents have happened in the past as well.
