Patna, 36 teams of Flying Squad and 36 teams of Static Surveillance have been formed to conduct the Lok Sabha General Elections-2024 in a free and fair manner. In this team, a magistrate, a police officer, armed forces and one videographer each have been deputed with each team. The team has been given vehicles equipped with GPS. This team will monitor illegal cash transactions, transfer, distribution, distribution of liquor or any other suspicious items which have the potential to influence voters and if caught, will take strict action as per rules. On the instructions of the District Magistrate, instructions were given to the nodal officer of the Candidate Expenditure Account Monitoring Cell to form at least three flying squads and static surveillance teams for each assembly constituency of the district.
A review meeting of election related preparations was held by the District Magistrate in his office room in which State Tax Joint Commissioner-cum-Nodal Officer Candidate Expenditure Account Monitoring Cell informed about the formation of the said team. He said that apart from these teams, 37 teams for video surveillance and 12 teams for video viewing have been formed. Today itself, from 3 pm onwards, training will be given to all these teams at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sabha Bhavan, Motihari. The District Magistrate gave instructions to keep special vigil on the inter-district border areas. He said that the vehicles should be strictly checked by marking the place, making check posts, barriers or drop gates.
The nodal officer of the Training Management Cell present in the meeting was instructed to prepare a training schedule for the polling officials deputed for election work and select the training venue. Senior officer of the training cell said that master trainers have been selected at the district level and block level and the training schedule will be made within one to two days.
In today's meeting, all the assistant election officers of the Legislative Assembly including the sub-divisional officers of Sheohar and Sitamarhi were connected through video conferencing. The DM said that if there are more than 1500 voters, the auxiliary polling booth should be located in the same building in which the polling booth was located earlier. The District Magistrate said that there should be good arrangements for drinking water, electricity, toilets and sanitation at the residence of Para Military Force. No shortcoming will be tolerated in this. It was told in the meeting that three companies of Para Military Force had arrived in the district yesterday itself.
Along with the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, Additional Collector, Additional Collector Disaster Management, Deputy Election Officer and nodal officers of the formed cells were present in the meeting.
