Maihar, the 78th Independence Day of the country was celebrated with great joy in Maihar district. The tricolor was waved with pride in the district. The first main celebration of Independence Day in the newly formed Maihar district was organized in the grounds of Ustad Alauddin Khan Stadium. In the ceremony, the Chief Guest, Minister-in-charge of the district and Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, Mrs. Radha Singh hoisted the flag and took the salute of the parade. She inspected the parade in a white gypsy along with Collector Rani Batad, Superintendent of Police Sudhir Agarwal and Reserve Inspector Nitendra Singh. In the ceremony, the Chief Guest read out the message of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. In the ceremony, the contingent of the armed forces fired celebratory shots three times. In the ceremony, 11 teams including District Police Force, NCC, Senior and Junior Scout Guide, Surya Dal, did an attractive parade on the melodious tune of the police force band. In the ceremony, the chief guest Mrs. Radha Singh released colorful balloons, a symbol of unity in diversity, to roam in the open sky. In the ceremony, Minister-in-charge Mrs. Singh honored the families of freedom fighters, brave martyrs and the guards of democracy by presenting them with bouquets, shawls and coconuts. In the program, about 1 thousand children from various schools of the city performed group PT. In the ceremony, students of various schools presented a beautiful cultural program with songs and dances full of patriotism and showing the development schemes of the government. Students of CM Rise Maihar, Mahakal Vidyalaya, Gurukul Vidyalaya and Miniland Vidyalaya were included in it. The Minister-in-charge honored the government officials and employees who did excellent work in various fields by giving them certificates. Along with the main function, Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor in all the development block headquarters, urban bodies, gram panchayats, government and non-government educational institutions and offices. Chief guest in-charge minister Radha Singh awarded the platoon commanders and school children who secured first, second and third positions in the parade and cultural programs. At the end of the function, officers and employees who did excellent work were honored with certificates. MLA Maihar Shrikant Chaturvedi, District Panchayat President Ramkhelavan Kol, Municipal Council President Geeta Santosh Soni, Vice President Sheetal Tamrakar, Additional Collector Shailendra Singh, SDM Vikas Singh, public representatives, family members of brave martyrs, councilors, dignitaries and a large number of common people, students and journalists were present in the function.
