Saharanpur, wheat procurement progress reviewed under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod. On reviewing the procurement, it was found that against the target of 1,98,000.00 MT in the division, 42381.414 MT target has been procured, which is 21.40 percent of the target. In which 5802.150 MT wheat has been purchased by Food Department, 22078.962 MT by PCF organization, 8506.692 MT by PCU organization, 1665.750 MT by Mandi Samiti and 4327.860 MT by BKNI. So far, purchase has been made from a total of 13837 farmers in the division. Out of which, payment of 93 percent farmers has been made directly in their Aadhar seeded accounts through PFMS. In comparison to the total wheat purchased of 42381.414 MT, 35333.085 MT has been delivered to BKNI. In order to bring progress in wheat procurement, he directed that in order to get maximum registration of farmers, all the wheat procurement centre in-charges/procurement agencies should obtain the list of farmers selling wheat in the year 2021-22 and after talking/contacting the concerned farmers, as well as by holding meetings with the concerned officers, ensure further progress in wheat procurement by getting maximum number of farmers registered. The wheat procurement of the PCF organisation in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts is less than the average procurement done in the divisional and Saharanpur districts. Therefore, the divisional and district level officers of the concerned procurement agency should make more efforts in the said districts to procure wheat as per the daily target and bring the procurement as per the average procurement of the divisional within a week. Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod, Joint Registrar/Joint Commissioner, Cooperative Saharanpur Division, Saharanpur was instructed to establish coordination and take action accordingly to bring progress in procurement. The government has instructed to operate all wheat procurement centers through mobile procurement centers. Therefore, 100% wheat procurement centers of the division should purchase wheat through mobile procurement centers as per rules. In every situation, procurement should also be ensured through mobile procurement centers at all procurement centers.

Divisional Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod instructed that payment of farmers selling wheat at procurement centers should be ensured within 48 hours in every case. Procurement must be done as per target every day at every procurement center. The committee formed to stop illegal movement of wheat in the districts needs to be more active and do enforcement work, so that illegal movement is stopped and wheat comes to the purchase centers for sale. The list of farmers who are registered on the portal but have not sold wheat at the purchase centers should be given to the concerned purchase centers and purchase of wheat should be ensured by talking to them. Ashish Kumar, Divisional Food Controller, Saharanpur Division informed that Saharanpur Division is at second place in the state in daily purchase and at 5th place in the state in purchase relative to the target and the purchase of the division is more than the average purchase of the state. In the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner presented a memento and a citation to the purchase centre in-charge Shri Jeet Singh, Mandi Sahayak and Shri Rahul Kumar, Clerk, who purchased the maximum wheat in the division, for purchasing the maximum wheat from all the purchase centres of Saharanpur division in the week from 29 April, 2024 to 05 May, 2024 and 06 May, 2024 to 12 May, 2024. Shri Sachin Goyal, TA was also presented a memento and a citation for making the maximum cumulative purchase from all the purchase centres of Saharanpur division till 05 May in the past weeks. The objective of which is that other purchase centre in-charges should also be encouraged by this and purchase as much wheat as possible, so that the farmers are benefited. The said award was given in the sequence of instructions given by the Commissioner, Food and Logistics Department, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. Ashish Kumar, Divisional Food Controller, Shri Krishna Divisional Food Marketing Officer Saharanpur, Yogendra Pal Singh, Joint Commissioner and Joint Registrar Cooperative, RP Patel District Food Marketing Officer Saharanpur, Mrs. Pragya Sharma District Food Marketing Officer Shamli, Ashok Kumar Assistant Commissioner and Assistant Registrar Cooperative Muzaffarnagar, Vishwa Bandhu Regional Manager PCF and Mehar Chandra Regional Manager PCU and Mrs. Suman Bharti Mandi Secretary Saharanpur etc. were present in the above review meeting and prize distribution program.
