Saharanpur. A meeting was convened in the Vikas Bhawan auditorium under the chairmanship of Chief Development Officer Sumit Rajesh Mahajan regarding preparations for the three-phased "Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan 2026" from August 9th to 17th. The meeting detailed the district's action plan in accordance with government guidelines, and directed the concerned departments to ensure timely and effective fulfillment of their assigned responsibilities. The Chief Development Officer stated that, as in previous years, this year too, the "Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan" will be transformed into a mass movement through extensive public participation. The campaign's objective is to hoist the national flag in every home and further strengthen citizens' sense of national identity, patriotism, and pride. He stated that the campaign should instill a sense of respect and gratitude for freedom fighters, martyrs, and those who sacrificed everything for the nation. The meeting was informed that various programs will be organized in the district from August 9 to 17, 2026, under the "Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan-2026" campaign, both physically and digitally. This year, the campaign is also linked to the 150th birth anniversary of the national song "Vande Mataram." This includes hoisting the tricolor, mass singing of "Vande Mataram," tricolor rallies, tricolor concerts, tricolor exhibitions, public awareness programs, and other patriotic events.
He directed that all programs related to the campaign be organized in a timely and effective manner, in accordance with government guidelines. He said that maximum participation of students, youth, self-help groups, women's groups, social organizations, and the general public should be ensured. The Chief Development Officer directed all concerned officials to effectively utilize various mediums, including the departmental website and social media platforms, to promote the campaign. He clarified that the "Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan-2026" should be implemented effectively, ensuring no shortcomings at any level. All departments should coordinate with each other and ensure the effective discharge of their responsibilities within the stipulated timeframe. He said that all officials and related organizations should work with full commitment to ensure that "Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan-2026" becomes a widespread public movement that strengthens respect for the national flag, patriotism, national unity, and pride in every citizen. The Chief Development Officer stated that in the first phase, school walls and boards will be decorated with artwork inspired by the tricolor. Tricolor exhibitions will be organized at identified locations, such as educational institutions, government buildings, shopping malls, railway stations, airports, bus stands, public parks, etc. Students will write letters of gratitude to soldiers and police personnel and send them in coordination with the postal department. Aesthetic tricolor lighting and decorations will be installed in local markets to widely encourage the sale of the tricolor and related items. The Panchayati Raj and Urban Development Department will ensure the sale of flags prepared by self-help groups with token money. A "Tricolor Selfie" campaign will be launched to promote digital public participation.

In the second phase, competitions based on the freedom movement will be held in schools, colleges, and technical institutions, with the first, second, and third-place schools invited and honored on January 26, 2027. A major event will be organized as the Tiranga Mahotsav, which will include a grand Tiranga Mela and a grand Tiranga Musical Concert. The Tiranga Mela will showcase and sell products manufactured by self-help groups, products produced in collaboration with micro, small, and medium enterprises, local products, ODOP, and tricolor-themed items. Citizens will be informed about the Flag Code and flag hoisting methods through various means.

In the third phase, flag hoisting ceremonies and tricolor lighting will be ensured at all inhabited houses, government and non-government institutions, commercial establishments, martyr memorials, Amrit Sarovars, etc. On Independence Day, a rally of students from basic and secondary schools will be held. Participation of local public representatives and dignitaries will be ensured, and war dead, families of freedom fighters, and veterans will be honored. Vande Mataram will be sung before the rally begins. General knowledge and sports competitions will be held in schools. On August 15th, programs will be organized and sweets will be distributed at Anganwadi centers, old-age homes, orphanages, disabled homes, and other juvenile homes. All government employees, non-government employees, teachers, and employees of industrial institutions will hoist the tricolor flag at their homes. At martyr sites and memorials, the police band, PAC band, and Home Guard band will play patriotic songs in the morning and evening. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Praveen Kumar, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Santosh Bahadur Singh, Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Salil Kumar, City Magistrate Kuldeep Singh, SDM Sadar Subodh Kumar, and PD Dr. DRDA Pranay Krishna, District Panchayat Raj Officer Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi and senior officers of the concerned departments were present.
