Know how the weather will be across the country today
Monsoon has become fully active across the country. From hilly states to plains, one after another pictures of the monsoon's impact are coming out. Due to continuous rain for the last one week, flood-like conditions have arisen in many states. Many fatal incidents of land slide have been reported in Uttarakhand and Himachal. Due to heavy rains continuing for the last one week, rivers in Uttarakhand are in spate. So the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in many states of the country even today. Along with Uttarakhand, Himachal, heavy rain warning has also been issued in Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan. There is a possibility of rain in Maharashtra, Gujarat for the next 6 days. There is a rain alert for Odisha and Jharkhand even today, while intermittent rain continues in Delhi NCR today.
Chardham Yatra postponed, rivers and streams in spate
Due to heavy rains and bad weather, Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand has been suspended for the next 24 hours. Due to heavy rains, the gate of Salal Dam in Reasi has been opened after the water level of Chenab river increased in Jammu and Kashmir. Heavy rains are continuing in Himachal Pradesh and there is a period of torrential rain in Delhi NCR as well. Due to rains from Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand to Kerala, rivers and streams are overflowing.
Monsoon's impact on the mountains
Due to continuous falling of rocks on the mountains, the government first postponed the Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand for 24 hours, then there was a massive landslide on the route of Adi Kailash from Dharchula in Pithoragarh district, due to which the Adi Kailash Yatra route has also been closed. An alert has been issued after the water level of the Ganges river increased till Haridwar and Rishikesh. Today, SDRF will conduct flood mock drill in the low lying areas along the Ganges. While the mountains have been hit by the monsoon, heavy rains are also occurring in the plains. Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan today.
How will the weather be in the capital Delhi?
Talking about Delhi, the sky will be generally cloudy today on June 30. Light to moderate rain may be accompanied by thunderstorms / lightning. On June 1, the sky will be generally cloudy in the capital. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain as well as lightning. On June 2, the sky will be generally cloudy in Delhi. There will be light rain with thunderstorms / lightning. The sky will be generally cloudy in Delhi from June 3 to June 5. Light rain may occur with thunderstorms / lightning.
Know the condition of other states-
Heavy rain is expected in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh from June 30 to July 3. Rajasthan may receive rain from July 2 to July 5. Uttarakhand may receive very heavy rains from June 30 to July 3.
There is a warning of heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh and Haryana on June 30. Heavy rain may occur in West Uttar Pradesh from June 30 to July 2 and in East Uttar Pradesh on June 30 and July 1. Heavy rain is likely over East Rajasthan on 4th and 5th July.
Very heavy rainfall is expected over Bihar from 30th June to 2nd July. Rain is likely over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh on 30th June and 1st July, Odisha during 30th June to 5th July, Jharkhand on 1st July.
Light/moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds with speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely at most places over East and Central India region during next 7 days.
Heavy to very heavy rains are likely at isolated places over Konkan and Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat state for next 7 days. Heavy rain is likely over Marathwada today.
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms and heavy rains at some places are likely to continue over North East during next 7 days. Very heavy rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during July 2 to 5.
