Saharanpur, District Magistrate, Saharanpur, Arvind Kumar Chauhan, and Senior Superintendent of Police, Abhinandan, held an important coordination meeting with petrol pump owners regarding the upcoming Kanwar Yatra 2026. Essential guidelines were provided during the meeting to ensure uninterrupted services, adherence to safety standards, and effective emergency arrangements on the Kanwar routes. The meeting discussed the role of petrol pumps in detail, considering the expected daily movement of millions of devotees and vehicles during the Kanwar Yatra. The District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police directed all petrol pump operators to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply during the Yatra period, maintain adequate stocks of petrol and diesel, and avoid any artificial shortages or disruptions. The meeting also directed that all petrol pumps ensure cleanliness, drinking water, toilets, adequate lighting, fire fighting equipment, constant monitoring of CCTV cameras, and full compliance with safety standards. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining orderly parking and traffic flow within the pump premises, avoiding unnecessary crowding and traffic jams, and maintaining constant coordination with the police and administration. Officials clarified that upon receiving any information related to an emergency, accident, or law and order situation, the local police and administration should be immediately informed to ensure timely and effective action. Furthermore, pump employees were instructed to maintain a courteous, cooperative, and sensitive behavior towards pilgrims, and to disregard any rumors or misleading information and to immediately report them to the administration. The meeting also urged that all petrol pump owners demonstrate public interest and social responsibility during the Kanwar Yatra 2026, maintaining full coordination with the administration, ensuring a safe, organized, smooth, and successful Kanwar Yatra in Saharanpur district. In the end, the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police appealed to all the petrol pump operators to actively cooperate with the administration and expressed confidence that the successful and smooth organization of Kanwar Yatra-2026 will be ensured through the collective efforts of all.
