Saharanpur, As per the instructions of District Magistrate Saharanpur Manish Bansal, a meeting of the District Level Committee of Food Safety and Drug Administration Department was convened in the new auditorium located in the Collectorate under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate Administration Dr. Archana Dwivedi. Additional District Magistrate Administration directed all the food officers to take strict action against adulterators. Samples of various items should be collected under food items. Under the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 and related rules 2011, the availability and quality of safe food and beverages should be ensured to the general public. He said that cleanliness should be ensured by checking the kitchen of food items. Along with the general public, small shopkeepers should also be made aware of the adverse effects of adulterated food items on health.
Dr. Archana Dwivedi said that effective enforcement action should be ensured against adulterated food items and beverages. Cases pending in the Hon'ble Court should be resolved by effective advocacy. All food business people should be covered with license and registration. Food business people should be made aware about the Food Safety Act through camps and regular inspections. 1076 helpline number should be pasted on all registered shops so that any common man can register a complaint in case of any complaint in food items.
Re-used cooking oil should be checked on the spot through the program prescribed by FSSAI. Under the Re-used Cooking Oil Program, the provision of giving the remaining portion of the oil used three times by the food business to the biodiesel company should be implemented. If anyone is found using re-used cooking oil more than three times, legal action should be taken against him. He directed the Assistant Commissioner of Food to make the general public aware about the harm caused by Ajinomoto. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Food II Pawan Kumar, District Supply Officer Manish Kumar, Basic Education Officer Komal and officers of concerned departments were present.
