Saharanpur | Deoband, The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Deoband Vineet Kumar Vaswani has sentenced two people to life imprisonment on the charge of dowry murder and also punished them with a fine of Rs 12,000 each. In case of not paying the fine, additional imprisonment of six months each has also been directed. Assistant District Government Advocate Devidayal Sharma said that Vivek Kumar, a resident of Thana Nanauta, was married to Sunita, a resident of village Bonsa of Thana Sarsawa area on 15 April 2017. He said that just one year and seven months after the marriage, Sunita died under suspicious circumstances on 27 November 2018. After which deceased Sunita's brother Sandeep filed a case of dowry murder against Sunita's husband Vivek Kumar, father-in-law Udesh Kumar and mother-in-law Veena Devi. However, as the cause of death was not clear in Sunita's post-mortem report, the viscera was sent to the forensic science laboratory for examination. Where the examination revealed the consumption of sulphas. Mother-in-law Veena Devi died while the case was pending. Advocate Devidayal Sharma told that the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Vineet Kumar Vaswani has sentenced Vivek Kumar, resident of Mohalla Chhata of Police Station Nanauta and his father Udesh Kumar to life imprisonment, declaring them guilty under Section 3\4 of IPC and Dowry Prohibition Act.
