Saharanpur. The court has sentenced the accused of making a deadly attack on the Chilkana police team to five years of imprisonment. Along with this, a fine of Rs 6500 has also been imposed on him. The punishment to the accused has been pronounced by Additional Sessions Judge Fast Track II. On 22 September 2019, the police team of Chilkana police station was checking at Dumjhera Road Nalhera intersection. During the checking, the police reached the spot as soon as they got information about two suspicious persons standing on Nalhera Road. Seeing them coming closer, they opened fire on the police. A constable was injured due to the bullet. In the retaliatory firing by the police, a miscreant was also shot on his leg. The injured miscreant told his name as Qurban son of Ali Hasan, resident of Mohalla Qaziwala Kairana. The police advocated strongly in this case. Charge sheets were presented against Qurban. After hearing, he was found guilty on the basis of evidence and witnesses.
