Bilaspur, State Advisor of Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) and Bilaspur Division Incharge Mrs. Monica Singh today inspected Gram Panchayat Chitawar in Takhatpur Development Block. She also observed the solid and liquid waste management activities being carried out in the Gram Panchayat and the effective implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026. She provided necessary guidance to the members of the Swachhagrahi group regarding regular door-to-door collection, ensuring waste segregation at source, and the regular collection and importance of sanitation fees.
State Advisor Mrs. Monica Singh said that the Swachh Bharat Mission will be successful only when every citizen adopts cleanliness as a daily habit and social responsibility. Segregation of household waste into four types, cooperation in regular door-to-door garbage collection, timely payment of sanitation fees, and public participation in maintaining cleanliness in public places are essential. If the Gram Panchayat, Swachhagrahis, and villagers collectively fulfill their responsibilities, every village can be made clean, healthy, beautiful, and garbage-free. Effective implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, is not just an administrative responsibility, but an important step towards environmental protection and a better future for future generations.

During the inspection, Swachhagrahis and villagers were informed about the four types of waste collection: dry waste, wet waste, sanitary waste, and special care or electronic waste. The importance of waste segregation at source and scientific waste management was also discussed in detail for creating a clean and garbage-free village. On this occasion, the village Sarpanch and Secretary were instructed to continuously raise awareness among villagers about cleanliness, ensure waste disposal only at designated sites, and, if necessary, take action to impose fines as per the rules. Villagers were also encouraged to separate waste into four types, regularly pay sanitation fees, and regularly use the community toilets built in the village.

During the inspection, District Member, Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Takhatpur, District Coordinator, District Advisor, Block Coordinator, BPM (NRLM), Technical Assistant of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, District Panchayat team, Sarpanch, Panchayat members, Secretary, Employment Assistant, Anganwadi workers, women of Bihan group, Swachhagrahi and a large number of villagers were present.
