Jagdalpur. A unique wedding became the topic of discussion in the Jagdalpur Central Jail in Bastar. After special permission from the court, undertrial Budhram Sethia and his girlfriend Manvati Kashyap began their married life by tying the knot within the prison premises. The wedding ceremony was conducted under the supervision of the prison administration, with prison officials, lawyers, social workers, and police officers as witnesses.
Budhram has been in judicial custody in the Central Jail for the past six months in a rape case. It is reported that the two were in a relationship previously, but the case was registered after a complaint from the girl's family. Despite this, Manvati remained loyal to her lover and continued to visit him regularly in jail.
During their court appearance, the couple expressed their desire to marry. Considering their consent and the circumstances of the case, the court granted permission for the wedding to take place within the prison premises. The marriage took place despite social and family opposition. Budhram's family opposed the inter-caste marriage and maintained a distance, while Manavati's family, prison officials, police officers, and a large number of lawyers were present. This marriage became a unique example of love, trust, and the legal process.
