Saharanpur, In line with the instructions of District Magistrate Manish Bansal, a seminar was organized in the new auditorium located in the Collectorate under the chairmanship of Chief Development Officer Sumit Rajesh Mahajan for the wide publicity of Kusum C-2 scheme with a view to setting up a solar power project of the proposed capacity within a radius of 05 kilometers near the identified 33/11 KV 50 substation of the district. In the seminar, the Chief Development Officer provided information about the scheme to all the concerned present and directed the concerned Lekhpals, Gram Pradhans to mark the land as per rules for setting up solar power plants on government land and private land of farmers for the implementation of the scheme. He directed the concerned Gram Panchayat officials to provide the required cooperation for the implementation of the scheme. 05 proposals for setting up solar plants were provided by the farmers present in the seminar through the Lekhpal. In the meeting, the nodal officer nominated from UPNEDA Headquarters, Lucknow, provided detailed information under the PM Kusum C-2 scheme. The objective of the PM Kusum C-2 scheme is to increase the income of farmers by solarizing agricultural feeders, as well as to ensure power supply to agricultural consumers and farmers in order to make the state self-reliant in the field of energy. The farmers were informed that a grant of Rs. 105 lakh by Government of India and Rs. 50 lakh by State Government, totaling Rs. 155 lakh is permissible for farmers to lease their private land to the project developer or for farmers to install solar plant on their own land. In the organized seminar, the nodal officer nominated from UPNEDA Headquarters Lucknow level, Senior Project Officer-2 Sanjay, Chief Engineer, Western Region, Electricity Distribution Corporation Ltd., Saharanpur region SK Agarwal, Project Officer, UPNEDA RB Verma, District Panchayat Raj Officer Alok Sharma, concerned accountant, village panchayat officer, engineers of the electricity department, village head and farmers were present.
