(Uttar Pradesh) Deoband, Rakesh Tikait, national spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union, who reached Saharanpur, Deoband, expressed displeasure over the statement of UP Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi that the rates of sugarcane do not increase every year and also vented his anger on the mills that do not pay sugarcane. After the foundation stone laying program of the new building of the Deoband branch of Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, Rakesh Tikait, while talking to journalists, expressed objection to the statement of UP Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, in which he had said that the rates of sugarcane do not increase every year. Rakesh Tikait said that farmers are disappointed with this statement of the Agriculture Minister, he should not have given such a statement. He also said that the price of crops is not increasing according to inflation. Privatization of electricity is a big issue. He said that the sugar mills are not paying the dues. Sugar factories that do not pay should be dealt with. On land acquisition, he said that due to the circle rate not being increased, a lot of difficulties are being faced. Whereas inflation has increased, so the circle rate should also increase.
