Saharanpur, in the sequence of celebrating Van Mahotsav from 1st to 7th July, on 3rd July, under the Van Mahotsav plantation program, State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Industrial Development, UP Government Jaswant Saini planted mango, jamun, sheesham, gold mohar, kadam etc. saplings in Mandi Samiti premises, Rampur Maniharan under Rampur Maniharan range. MLA Mukesh Chaudhary, Shivkumar Gupta, Municipal Council Chairman, Municipal Council Nakud planted neem, peepal, banyan, kadam, arjun, jackfruit etc. saplings in Maharaja Agrasen Kalyan Inter College, Nakud under Nakud range and made children aware and requested to plant a tree in the name of mother. Under Saharanpur range, former MLA Jagpal Singh planted Hari Shankari Vatika teak, sheesham etc. saplings on the banks of Hindon river in Gagalhadi Ahatmal. Van Mahotsav seminar and tree plantation programme was organized under the guidance of Divisional Director Social Forestry Division, Saharanpur Shubham Singh. Sub Divisional Forest Officer of Forest Division, Smt. Samvedna Chauhan and Regional Forest Officer Saharanpur made the departmental employees and local citizens aware about the environment. As per this year's theme given by the Government of India, 'One Tree in the Name of Mother', every person must plant a tree. Along with this, in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Aawasiya Vidyalaya Behat under Behat Range of Social Forestry Division, Saharanpur, plantation of Drumstick, Peepal, Pilkhan, Amla, Guava etc. was done by Smt. Mamta Singh Principal and the entire staff of Behat Range. In Rajjupur Graveyard Shakurpur Mafi under Deoband Range, Peepal, Tamarind, Amla etc. were planted by Gram Pradhan Khalil Ahmed and the villagers. Under the Van Mahotsav program, a tree was planted in the name of Mother by the officers/employees of Behat, Rampur Mani, Saharanpur Range. The staff also took a pledge to protect the planted trees. Along with this, Van Mahotsav Seminar and Plantation Program was organized under the guidance of Divisional Forest Officer, Shivalik Forest Division, Saharanpur Ms. Shweta Sain in Mohand, Shakumbhari and Badkala Range Badshahibagh of Shivalik Forest Division, Saharanpur. Under Mohand Range, 50 plants of species like Amla, Jackfruit, Arjun, Sheesham, Neem, Teak and Jamun were planted in Mohand 3B. A total of 35 persons participated in this event including Rajendra Agarwal, Gram Panchayat member, Gram Panchayat Ganeshpur, forest workers and local villagers. 40 plants of species like Peepal, Bamboo, Sheesham, Amla, Kanji etc. were planted in village Nagalmafi under Shakumbhari Range. A total of 25 persons participated in this event including Lal Singh, Gram Pradhan Nagalmafi and forest workers and local villagers. 11 plants of species like Bael, Mango, Amla, Guava etc. were planted in Forest Rest House, Badshahibagh premises under Badkala Range. A total of 25 persons participated in this event including Smt. Seema Devi, Pradhan Gram Panchayat-Mayapur Ruppur and forest workers and local villagers. On the occasion of Van Mahotsav program, important information was given about environment and forests. While giving detailed information about Plant Trees-Save Trees campaign, it was told that the decreasing forest cover is also the reason for severe heat this year. Forests are most important for maintaining natural balance and it is our moral responsibility to protect them.
