Rahul Gandhi protested

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wrote on social media, 'Modi government collected ₹24 thousand crores from crores of common Indians who pay health insurance premium every year by saving every penny so that they do not have to bow down to anyone in the 'health crisis' that comes in life. Looking for a 'tax opportunity' before every disaster is a proof of the insensitive thinking of the BJP government. INDIA alliance opposes this opportunistic thinking. Health and life insurance will have to be made GST free.

Imran Pratapgarhi also raised questions

Regarding this, Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi said, "The common people are very upset with the GST imposed by the government on health insurance and medicines. Nitin Gadkari (Union Minister) has also written a letter for this. There is a lot of opposition to this within the government as well. The entire opposition is protesting for this today. The government will have to give relief to the common man."
