Saharanpur, National Green Tribunal (NGT) has taken major action in the matter of polluting the water of Hindon river and has given notice of fine of 200 crores to Municipal Corporation Saharanpur. Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Chauhan and Mayor Dr. Ajay Singh said that the corporation will take the matter of polluting the water of Hindon seriously and action will be taken against those who are releasing polluted water into Hindon river. In the notice of National Green Tribunal, it has been said that 100 MLV sewerage is being dumped into Hindon daily through Dhamola and Paandhoi rivers without cleaning it. A fine of 200 crores can be imposed on it for this negligence. According to Mayor Ajay Singh, the corporation will effectively clean the water of drains, sewers and rivers. According to Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Chauhan, 92 drains are dumping polluted water and garbage into Hindon. The corporation will release all the polluted water into Dhamola and Paandhoi rivers only after cleaning it through water purification plant STP. An action plan will be prepared in this regard by holding a meeting with the concerned officials.
