Saharanpur, Electronics and Information Technology Minister of the state and Minister-in-charge of the district Sunil Kumar Sharma inspected the Kanha Upvan Gaushala operated by the Municipal Corporation during his visit to Saharanpur district. Minister-in-charge Sunil Kumar Sharma fed jaggery to the cows and worshiped the cows. He praised the cowshed and the products made from cow dung and cow urine.

Giving information about the treatment plant installed in the cowshed by the corporation, Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Chauhan told Minister-in-charge Sunil Kumar Sharma that the water that comes out of the cowshed for washing etc. is purified and reused. He told that the pistia plants planted in the plant absorb the waste elements from the cow dung water. The process of oxygenation and ozonation is used in this.

Minister in charge Sunil Kumar Sharma also saw products like Gonail made from cow urine and diyas made from cow dung, incense sticks, idols of Ganesh ji and Oim, Rakhi and organic manure etc. Mayor Dr. Ajay Kumar told Minister in charge Sunil Kumar that cows are kept in the Gaushala and Nandi is kept in the Nandishala near it. The corporation is planning to expand it further in view of the increasing number of cows. Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Chauhan said that these products of the Municipal Corporation are available on Amazon and are being sold online till Karnataka and Telangana. The Veterinary Welfare Officer of the Corporation Dr. Sandeep Mishra informed the Minister in charge about the process of making Gonail and other cow dung products. During the inspection, MLA Rampur Maniharan Devendra Nim, MLA Nakud Mukesh Chaudhary, District Magistrate Manish Bansal, SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan, Additional Municipal Commissioner Mrityunjay, Chief Engineer Construction BK Singh etc. were present.
