New Delhi, The central government on Monday carried out a major administrative reshuffle, appointing several senior IAS officers. The most significant change was the appointment of Dipti Gaud Mukherjee as the Higher Education Secretary. She replaces Vineet Joshi, who was appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj last month.

According to an order issued by the Personnel Ministry late Monday night, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved Dipti Gaud Mukherjee's new responsibilities. Her appointment to the Higher Education Ministry is considered significant following the NEET paper leak controversy.

The decision regarding the Higher Education Secretary had been changed earlier as well.

Interestingly, the government had previously decided to appoint Naresh Pal Gangwar, Secretary of the Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, as the Higher Education Secretary. Later, this decision was reversed and Dipti Gaud Mukherjee has been given this responsibility.

Chandrashekhar S. Returns to Kerala

Chandrashekhar S., serving as the personal secretary to Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, has been repatriated to his parent state, Kerala. Chandrashekhar, a 2014-batch IAS officer, was appointed the personal secretary to the Vice President in September last year.

Gyanesh Bharti Appointed Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Under an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs, senior IAS officer Gyanesh Bharti has been appointed the new Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Bharti previously held the position of Deputy Election Commissioner.

Meanwhile, Youth Affairs Secretary Pallavi Jain Govil has been appointed the new Secretary of Corporate Affairs. Sunil Paliwal, Chairman of the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), will now replace Govil as Secretary of Youth Affairs.

Sushil Kumar Lohani Takes Charge of IWAI

Sushil Kumar Lohani, serving as Officer on Special Duty in the Cabinet Secretariat, has been appointed the new Chairman of the Inland Waterways Authority of India, replacing Sunil Paliwal.

Additionally, V.L. Kant Rao, Secretary of the Water Resources Department, has been appointed Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Official Languages, Ministry of Home Affairs. He will assume the position of Secretary of the Department of Official Languages ​​after the current Secretary, Ansuli Arya, retires at the end of next month.
