(Chhattisgarh) Kaveram, son of Hiruram, a resident of village Bhurwal in Narayanpur district, was earning his living by farming and taking care of himself and his family. When he came to know about the schemes run by the Horticulture Department, he took detailed information about the departmental schemes and started working in the field of horticulture. Gradually, the results of his hard work and the benefits received from the departmental schemes have started to show. Kaveram has started cultivating bitter gourd and tomato with advanced technology in 2 hectares of land, due to which he has started getting more income than his earlier income. Earlier Kaveram used to grow only paddy crop, in which production started decreasing with time and due to increase in cost, income also decreased. The Horticulture Department suggested Kaveram to cultivate horticultural crops bitter gourd and tomato and now he is producing 35 to 40 quintals of bitter gourd and tomato, which is increasing his income. Kaveram has earned more than 1 lakh 14 thousand from this farming and the financial condition of his house is also improving. Now he is considered an example in his village, seeing which the nearby farmers are also starting to do horticultural farming. The Horticulture Department has also provided him a grant amount for the construction of a pack house in the year 2023-24.
