Ayodhya. An important meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will be held in Ayodhya on July 22nd at 4 p.m. The trustees will discuss in detail the final report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), if available by then. Decisions will also be made on the reorganization of various committees of the Trust, the confirmation of the minutes of previous meetings, and other administrative issues.

This meeting comes at a time when the alleged theft of offerings at the Ram Temple has become a topic of discussion nationwide, raising numerous questions about the temple management and the functioning of the Trust.

Trust structure changed after the offering theft case

Following the alleged irregularities in offerings, the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra were accepted at the Trust's last meeting. Subsequently, several administrative changes were made to make the temple administration more transparent and effective.

The Trust has also invited applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), taking steps towards reorganizing the temple's operations. This indicates that the responsibility for temple management may soon be handed over to a new CEO.

What is the offering theft case?

A large number of devotees arrive in Ayodhya daily to visit Ram Lalla, and a large amount of offerings, including cash and gold and silver, are presented at the temple. Meanwhile, a case emerged that offerings received at the temple were allegedly being stolen.

Following the incident, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to investigate. The investigation revealed several important facts, and several people were arrested. The preliminary investigation also revealed that some of the individuals involved in the alleged theft were involved in temple service. Following the incident, some Trust officials were accused of negligence at the supervisory and administrative levels.

All Eyes on the SIT Report

If the SIT submits its final report at the July 22 meeting, the Trust will discuss its findings and take necessary decisions. It is believed that further corrective measures may be taken in the temple management system based on the report.

Congress Also Demands a Comprehensive Investigation

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding a comprehensive and impartial investigation into the matter. Both leaders have demanded an investigation into the Trust's financial management, the management of all offerings, including cash and gold and silver, received from devotees, and the disclosure of the investigation report and the Trust's accounts.

However, there has been no official response from the Central Government or the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on these demands.
