Horrific Road Accident in Bhind
Sleeper bus traveling from Nepal to Pune collides with truck loaded with LPG cylinders, woman killed; 15 injured
Bhind. A horrific road accident occurred in Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday. A sleeper bus traveling from Nepal to Pune, Maharashtra, collided with a truck loaded with LPG cylinders in the Gohad area. The impact was so severe that the front portion of the bus was shattered. A woman from Nepal died on the spot, while 15 passengers were injured. The injured were rescued and taken to Gohad Civil Hospital, where preparations are underway to refer six seriously injured to Gwalior.
Truck Collides with Bus During Overtaking
According to reports, the sleeper bus was carrying passengers from Kailali area of Nepal to Pune. The bus arrived in Bhind via Etawah on Friday morning. Here, on National Highway 719, near Banjare Ka Pura in the Gohad Chauraha police station area, a truck carrying LPG cylinders collided with an oncoming truck.
The truck driver was reportedly trying to overtake a dump truck ahead of him. The truck lost control and collided with an oncoming sleeper bus. The impact was so severe that the front portion of the bus was severely damaged.
Villagers rescued passengers trapped inside the bus
After the accident, there was screaming and shouting inside the bus. Many passengers were seriously injured and trapped inside. Passersby and nearby villagers immediately rushed to the scene and began rescue operations and informed the police.
Eyewitness Nawal Singh, a resident of Bhind, said the accident unfolded before his eyes. He said that immediately after the accident, people gathered at the scene and began pulling the injured out of the bus. There was a lot of blood spilled at the scene. Police arrived shortly after and rushed the injured to the hospital.
"Many people injured, driver's both legs burned"
Kanchan Chaudhary, a resident of Nepal, said she was traveling from Kailali, Nepal, to Pune. The bus was carrying a large number of passengers traveling to the Navali Bridge area of Pune. On the way, the bus collided with a truck.
According to Kanchan, several passengers were injured in the accident. He also stated that the driver's legs were severely burned.
13 Injured Nepalese, Two Pune Residents
According to Gohad Square Police Station in-charge Ramnaresh Yadav, a police team arrived at the scene as soon as they received information about the accident. A total of 15 people were reported injured in the accident. Of these, 13 passengers were from Nepal and two from Pune.
The woman who died in the accident was also a resident of Nepal. Police have informed her family about the incident through the Nepal border. Six seriously injured passengers are being referred to Gwalior for better treatment.
Currently, police are investigating the accident and preparing a complete list of the injured. With the help of police and local residents, all the injured were taken to the hospital.
