Energy revolution in Chhattisgarh: Investment of Rs 3 lakh crore

Raipur, The government has taken a big step to give a new dimension to the energy sector in Chhattisgarh. At the 'Chhattisgarh Energy Investors Summit' held in Raipur, several national and international companies announced investments of more than Rs 3 lakh crore. This investment will give a new direction to energy projects like nuclear, thermal, solar and pumped storage in the state, which will not only benefit the industries but also provide cheap and uninterrupted electricity to the general public.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said during the summit, "Chhattisgarh is going to become the leading state of the country not only for coal and minerals but also in energy production. This investment will take us towards energy self-sufficiency and will give new heights to the economy of the state."
Big investments and new projects
1. Nuclear energy: For the first time, a 4200 MW capacity nuclear power project will be started in Chhattisgarh, in which an investment of Rs 80,000 crore will be made.
2. Thermal power: New thermal power projects will be set up with an investment of Rs 1.07 lakh crore, which will make Chhattisgarh one of the major power hubs of the country.
3. Solar energy: To promote green energy, 2500 MW solar power projects will be set up at a cost of Rs 10,000 crore.
4. Pumped storage: 8700 MW pumped storage projects will be set up at a cost of Rs 57,046 crore, which will make the power grid stable and efficient.
Employment and industries will get a boost
This historic investment will create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities in Chhattisgarh. Greater availability of energy will give impetus to the establishment of new industries in the state, opening new doors of employment for local youth.
Farmers and general consumers will get benefits
The government says that after the completion of these projects, cheap electricity will be made available to domestic and agricultural consumers. Solar and pumped storage power plants will ensure 24x7 uninterrupted power supply in the state, which will eliminate the problem of power cuts even in rural areas.
Preparations to make Chhattisgarh an energy hub
The state government has indicated that in the coming years, Chhattisgarh will be in a position to export electricity to states across the country. This will also give additional revenue to the state, which will be invested in infrastructure and social development projects.
