Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that a total of 16.14 crore voters will exercise their franchise in these elections. Of these, there will be 8.2 crore male voters and 7.8 crore female voters. This time 60.2 lakh new voters will cast their vote for the first time. Total 679 assembly seats in five states

In 2018, the dates for the assembly elections of the five states were announced on October 6. Elections in Chhattisgarh were conducted in two phases. Voting was held in one phase in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram. The election results of all five states came together on December 11.
